104 FTM-10R O PERATING M ANUALINSTALLATION OF OPTIONAL ACCESSORIESBU-1 Bluetooth ® ADAPTER U NITPlease be sure to follow these safety precautions:P Turn the transceiver power off, and disconnect all cables from the transceiver.P Touch a metal place to discharge any static electricity from your body.Installing the “BU-1” in the Front Panel1. Remove the four screws securing theFront Panel and then remove the FrontPanel from the Transceiver Body.connectorBU-12. Disconnect the 8-pin modular plugfrom the Transceiver.3. Remove the screw affixing the StraightSub Panel, and then remove theStraight Sub Panel from the FrontPanel.4. Remove the four screws securing theRear Case of the Front Panel and re-move the Rear Case from the FrontPanel.Note: When you remove the rear case,you will find a small thin green wirenear the flat ribbon cable. Be carefulnot to cut or damage this wire.5. Carefully align the connector on theBU-1 with the connector on the PrintedCircuit Board, and gently press theBU-1 into place.6. Replace the Rear Case, Sub Panel, and8-pin modular plug.7. Attach the Front Panel to the Trans-ceiver Body using the previously re-moved four screws.
