Checking the ignition timingNOTE:Install the test propeller, when checking theignition timing.1. Place the lower unit in water, and thenstart the engine and warm it for 5 min-utes.2. Turn off the engine when the engine hasbeen completely warmed up.3. Disconnect the throttle cable 1 andremove the throttle link rod 2, then setthe control lever 2 3 to the full retardposition.NOTE:To disconnect and connect the throttle cable,refer to page 3-7.4. Attach the special service tool 4 and 5to the spark plug wire #1, and then startthe engine. Check the engine idle speedand ignition timing.5.
