If knocking or ping-ing occurs, use a different brand of gasolineor premium unleaded fuel. Yamaha re-comends that you use alcohol-free (seeGasohol) gasoline whenever possible.NOTICEECM01981 Do not use leaded gasoline. Leadedgasoline can seriously damage the en-gine. Avoid getting water and contaminantsin the fuel tank. Contaminated fuel cancause poor performance or enginedamage. Use only fresh gasoline thathas been stored in clean containers.GasoholThere are two types of gasohol: gasohol con-taining ethanol (E10) and that containingmethanol. Ethanol can be used if the ethanolcontent does not exceed 10% and the fuelmeets the minimum octane ratings.
