FRONT BRAKE4-31WARNINGEWA13530Proper brake hose routing is essential toinsure safe vehicle operation. Refer to"CABLE ROUTING" on page 2-39.NOTE:• While holding the brake hose, tighten theunion bolt as shown.• Turn the handlebar to the left and right tomake sure the brake hose does not touchother parts (e.g., wire harness, cables,leads). Correct if necessary.CAUTION:EC2D1004Attach the brake hose so that its angle is23° to 33° against the straight line in paral-lel with the ceiling plane of the master cyl-inder.3. Fill:• Brake master cylinder reservoir(with the specified amount of the recom-mended brake fluid)WARNINGEWA13540• Use only the designated brake fluid.Other brake fluids may cause the rubberseals to deteriorate, causing leakage andpoor brake performance.• Refill with the same type of brake fluidthat is already in the system. Mixing brakefluids may result in a harmful chemicalreaction, leading to poor brake perfor-mance.• When refilling, be careful that water doesnot enter the brake master cylinder reser-voir. Water will significantly lower theboiling point of the brake fluid and couldcause vapor lock.CAUTION:ECA13540Brake fluid may damage painted surfacesand plastic parts. Therefore, always cleanup any spilt brake fluid immediately.4. Bleed:• Brake systemRefer to "BLEEDING THE HYDRAULICBRAKE SYSTEM" on page 3-25.5. Check:• Brake fluid levelBelow the minimum level mark “a” → Addthe recommended brake fluid to the properlevel.Refer to "CHECKING THE BRAKE FLUIDLEVEL" on page 3-23.6.
