Install the camshaft into the cylinder head(without the dowel pins and camshaftcaps).b. Position strip of Plastigauge® “1” onto thecamshaft journal as shown.c. Install the dowel pins and camshaft caps.NOTE:• Tighten the camshaft cap bolts in stages andin a crisscross pattern, working from theinner caps out.• Do not turn the camshaft when measuringthe camshaft journal-to-camshaft cap clear-ance with the Plastigauge®.d.
