46REMOTE CONTROL FEATURESUsing the Macro FeatureThe Macro feature makes it possible to perform a series of operations by pressing just one button. For example, whenyou want to play a CD, normally you would turn on the components, select the CD input, and press the play button tostart playback. The Macro feature lets you perform all those operations by simply pressing the CD macro button. Themacro buttons (the input selector buttons, Å and ı buttons, SYSTEM POWER and STANDBY) are factory set withmacro programs. You can also program your own macros (see page 47).*1 In order to turn on some components (including YAMAHA components) connected to this unit, connect thosecomponents to the AC OUTLETS on the rear panel. (Power control may not be synchronized with this unitdepending on the component. For details, please refer to the operation instruction for the connected component.)*2 If the macro you select includes power control functions, the component may be turned off if it is already on whenyou press the macro button. For example, if your TV is on and you press the SYSTEM POWER macro button, theTV is turned off.*3 Playback can be started with any YAMAHA remote control-compatible MD recorders, CD players, CD recorders,DVD players, and LD players.
