This feature works when thisunit decodes DTS or Dolby Digital signals. Ideally, theCenter speaker and the Rear Center speaker should be thesame distance from the main listening position as the leftand right Main speakers. However, in most homesituations, the Center speaker or the Rear Center speakeris placed in line with the Main speakers or the Rearspeakers. By delaying the sound from the Center speakerand the Rear Center speaker, the apparent distance fromthe Center speaker and the Rear Center speaker to themain listening position can be adjusted to make it seemthe same as the distance between the left and right Mainspeaker, and the left and right Rear speakers to thelistening position. Adjusting the delay time for the Centerspeaker is especially important for giving depth to thedialogue.Control range: 0 to 5 ms for CENTER0 to 30 ms for REAR CENTERInitial setting: 0 ms for CENTER3 ms for REAR CENTERPress –/+ to increase or decrease the delayof the center and the rear center channelsounds.Center speaker imagey• Increasing the delay by 1 ms simulates moving the speakersabout 30 cm (one foot) farther away from the listening position.11 D-RANGE (dynamic range)Use this feature to adjust the dynamic range.
