PRODUCT OVERVIEW26 TNV Operation ManualCONTROLSKey SwitchThe key switch for the operator’s consoleillustrated in Figure 9 has three positions - OFF,ON, and START.Figure 9OFF (key straight up and down) (Figure 9, (1)) -When you turn the key to this position the engineshuts down. Electric current to the gauges andindicators is shut off. You can insert and removethe key in this position.ON (Figure 9, (2)) - This is the position the keywill be in when the engine is running. When theengine is not running, use this position toenergize the gauges, indicators, electric fuelpump and auxiliary devices.START (Figure 9, 3)) - Turn the key to thisposition to start the engine. As soon as theengine starts, release the key and it willautomatically return to the ON position. Some keyswitches may be equipped with a feature thatprevents you from turning the key to the STARTposition while the engine is running. In theseconfigurations, you cannot turn the key to theSTART position without first returning the key tothe OFF position.The key switch for the operator’s consoleillustrated in Figure 10 has four positions - OFF,ON, START, and HEAT.Figure 10CAUTION0000008enFor maximum engine life, Yanmarrecommends that when shutting theengine down, you allow the engine toidle, without load, for 5 minutes.
