Two typicaloperator’s consoles are illustrated here.Figure 8Figure 9Pre-Heat - (Figure 8, (5)) - The pre-heat functionis automatically activated when the key switch isturned to the ON position. The indicator flashesfor several seconds and when it goes out you canturn the key switch to START.Heat - (Figure 9, (1)) - Note that you must turnthe key to the HEAT position to activate the glowplugs (indirect injection models) or inlet air heater(direct injection models). The indicator will flashfor several seconds when you turn the key toHEAT. You can turn the key to START when theindicator goes out.Battery - (Figure 8, (2)) or (Figure 9, (2)) - StaysOn until the engine is running and the alternatoris supplying charging current. This indicator doesnot indicate whether the battery is discharged.Engine Oil Pressure - (Figure 8, (6)) or(Figure 9, (3)) - Stays On until the engine isrunning and the oil pressure is within normallimits.Engine Coolant Temperature - (Figure 8, (4))or (Figure 9, (4)) - Stays On momentarily.
