FUEL SYSTEMTNV DI Service Manual 7-21Fuel Injection PumpInstallation of Fuel Injection PumpIMPORTANTIf installing a new or recalibrated fuelinjection pump, locate and record the timingindex number located on the pump housingboss on the engine side of the new orrecalibrated fuel injection pump(Figure 7-18, (1)). This number will be usedto calculate and adjust the final fuel injectiontiming.Note: If either or both of the fuel injectionpumps do not have a timing indexnumber, note the injection pump ID(example: XK42) on the injection pumpID label.To locate the timing index number for the enginebeing serviced use the Timing Index Chart under“FIE Specs” on the Yanmar Distributor Website(http://distributor.yanmar.co.jp).If additional assistance is needed in locating theengine timing index number See To Locate anAuthorized Yanmar Industrial Engine Dealer orDistributor: on page 2-4 and follow the instructionsto locate an authorized Yanmar industrial enginedealer or distributor for assistance.Note: Treat the timing index number as if it hasa decimal point (68 = 6.8).Figure 7-181. These adjustments havebeen made at the factory to meet allapplicable emissions regulations andthen sealed.• NEVER attempt to make anyadjustments to these sealedadjustment screws.
