The fan trays ofthe S7506R and the S7503 are fixed by captive screws, while the fan tray of the S7506is fixed by two locks.The following describes how to install and remove these two types of fan trays,respectively.6.4.1 Replacing the Fan Tray of the S7506I. Removing the fan trayFigure 6-3 Removing the fan tray from the S7506Follow these steps to remove the fan tray from the S7506:1) Wear the ESD-preventive wrist strap and push down the locks on the two ejectorlevers of the fan tray. Meanwhile, pull the two ejector levers outward to separatethe fan tray from the backplane. See Figure 6-3.Caution:z If you want to replace the fan tray when the switch is working, separate the fan trayfrom the backplane to disconnect the power and wait till the fan stops rotating beforepulling it out completely. Considering that the fan may be still rotating, avoidstretching your hands into the fan tray.z Push down the locks before pulling the ejector levers outward. Otherwise, the locksmay be broken.2) Grasp the two ejector levers and slide the fan tray out of the slot. See Figure 6-3.3) Put the fan tray into the package.
