Installation ManualH3C S7500 Series Ethernet Switches Chapter 7 Software Maintenance7-17z After the system reboots, load the Boot ROM to the LPUs through command lines.For more information, refer to section 7.4.1 “Loading Through Command Lines”on page 7-14.Caution:z The software of the SRPUs and LPUs must be consistent so that the S7500 seriescan work normally.z After loading the host software of the SRPUs of the S7500 series, you must rebootthe LPUs to synchronize the software of the LPUs with that of the SRPUs.z The S7506R supports dual SRPU design and active-standby switchover. If twoSRPUs are equipped, you can use the active-standby switchover function to updateand reboot the two SRPUs in turn on condition that one SRPU works normally.Although the SRPUs support hot backup, you are recommended to reboot thewhole system after loading the software of the SRPUs because LPUs must berebooted to keep their software version consistent with that of the SRPUs and theservices will be interrupted during LPU reboot.7.5 Booting the Switch with Dual ImagesThe S7500 series support dual image booting. That is, the switch normally boots withthe main image (i.e. the primary file), and with the backup image (i.e. the backup file)when errors occur to the main image.Refer to section 7.3 “Loading Software Through Command Lines” on page 7-12 forloading dual images to the switch using commands.
