This chapter describes how tohandle the faults caused by improper installation.On the SRPU of the S7500 series, you can find the status LEDs of the LPUs, powermodules, and fan tray. You can check these status LEDs to locate the faults.Note:The LEDs on the standby SRPU of the S7506R are always OFF except the SRPG LED.The SRPG LED on the standby SRPU is in the same state as that on the active SRPU.Thus, you need not consider the LEDs on the standby SRPU when troubleshootingpower modules, fans, or LPUs.8.1 Troubleshooting the Configuration SystemIf the configuration system is normal after it is powered on, the startup banner will bedisplayed on the configuration terminal. If the configuration system is faulty, theconfiguration terminal may display illegible characters or nothing at all.8.1.1 No Display on the TerminalIf no information is displayed on the terminal after the switch is powered on, checkwhether:z The power system works normally.z The SRPU works normally.z The console cable is connected to the console port in the SRPU.If no problem is found after the above checks, check whether:z The console cable is connected to a wrong serial port. (The port in use is not theone set on the terminal.)z The terminal parameters are configured incorrectly.These parameters should be configured as follows:–Bits per second: 9600–Data bits: 8–Parity check: None
