Chapter 8. Packet Manager61200305L1-1 ATLAS 550 User Manual 8-3P ACKET E NDPNTS The PACKET ENDPNTS menu defines, monitors, and tests a packet endpoint.Submenus include S TATUS, PERFORMANCE, C ONFIG, TEST, E NDPNT C OUNT,and ENDPNTS S ORT.S TATUS S TATUS submenus display the status of each packet endpoint including thepacket endpoint name (E NDPNT N AME), the protocol type (PROT), the signal-ing role (SIG R OLE), the signaling type (SIG TYPE), the signaling state (SIGS TATE), and the connections (C URRENT PORT). The following sections dis-cuss each of these fields.E NDPNT N AME Read Security: 5Displays the packet endpoint name as defined in the PACKET E NDPNTS /C ONFIG M ENU (also see Config on page 8-6).P ROT Read Security: 5Displays the layer 2 protocol that this packet endpoint terminates. FR indi-cates that this packet endpoint is configured for frame relay. TBOP indi-cates that this packet endpoint is configured for Transparent Bit OrientedProtocol (TBOP).S IG R OLE Read Security: 5Displays the frame relay signaling role for this packet endpoint. Theselections include OFF, U NKNOWN, N ETWORK, U SER, and B OTH.O FFIndicates that the endpoint is configured so that it does not use signaling.U NKNOWNIndicates that the endpoint is configured to auto-detect the role, but has notyet done so.N ETWORKIndicates that the endpoint is acting as the network end of a UNI link.U SERIndicates that the endpoint is acting as one end of a UNI link.B OTHIndicates that the endpoint is acting as one end of an NNI link.S IG TYPE Read Security: 5Displays the frame relay signaling type used on this packet endpoint. Selec-tions include U NKNOWN, A NNEX A, A NNEX D, and LMI.U NKNOWNIndicates that the endpoint is configured to auto-detect the signaling stan-dard to use, but has not yet done so.
