Flag Name and FunctionDSB Disable Status BlockThe Disable Status Block flag (bit 14) indicates whether the status block is to bestored. If this bit is set to one, then the host adapter does not store the status block if thecontrol block is completed without error. In the event of an error, the status blockwill be stored. If this bit is set to zero, then the status block is stored unconditionally upon comple-tion of the control block. This flag should be set to one for most operations.ARS Automatic Request SenseThis flag (bit 15) indicates whether the host adapter is to automatically issue aRequest Sense command to the target if the target responds to the control blockoperation with a check condition. If this bit is set to one, then the host adapter will automatically issue a RequestSense command to the target immediately following a check condition (TargetStatus = 02), and prior to interrupting the host. The number of bytes of senseinformation the host adapter requests is specified in the sense length field. The hostadapter stores the bytes to the memory address pointed to by the sense informationpointer. If this bit is set to zero, then the host adapter ignores the sense length and senseinformation pointer fields. This option is available only for Initiator SCSI commands. This flag will be ignoredfor Target SCSI commands. For all other commands, setting this flag to one willresult in a specification check.Flag Word 2Flag word 2 is a 16-bit structured field used to specify execution parameters for thiscontrol block.F E D C B A 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 0N R C S D D N T T T L L LR E H T I A D T T A U U UB C K R T G N N NFields that are empty are reserved and should be set to zero.adaptec AHA-1740A/1742A/17446-6
