3-6Ultra160 Family Manager Set User’s GuideInstalling the Driver When Windows 95/98 isAlready InstalledTo update or install theadpu160m.mpd driver if Windows 95/98 isalready installed, follow these instructions:Note: All Adaptec Ultra160 Family host adapters use theadpu160m.mpd driver. Once the correct driver is updated, itis not necessary to update it again for each Ultra160 Familyhost adapter installed in your system.1 Start Windows 95/98.2 Using the right mouse button (right-click), click the MyComputer icon.3 Click Properties.4 On the Device Manager tab, click the plus sign (+) next to theSCSI Controller icon.Caution: If Windows 95/98 cannot determine the typeof host adapter installed in your computer, a yellowquestion mark labeled Other Devices appears insteadof the SCSI Controller icon. To continue, click the plussign (+) next to the question mark; a yellow questionmark labeled PCI SCSI Bus Controller then appears.5 Double-click the Ultra160 Family host adapter you wish toupdate, or if a yellow question mark labeled PCI SCSI BusController is displayed, double-click the question mark.6 Insert the Ultra160 Family Manager Set disk for Windows intodrive A.7 Select the Drivers tab.Caution: If the version of Windows 95/98 you areusing displays an Update Driver button instead of aChange Driver button, follow the procedures in thesection Updating the Driver for Windows 95 on page 3-7.!!
