5-7UnixWare InstallationUsing UnixWare and the Host AdapterThis section contains useful information on using UnixWare andyour host adapter.Using Tunable ParametersFor UnixWare, some parameters are defined in the following files:/etc/conf/pack.d/adst21/space.cor/etc/conf/pack.d/adst70/space.cThese parameters can be tuned for either theadst21 driver or theadst70 driver. Please refer to the comments in the appropriatespace.c file for a description of these parameters. After modifyingthespace.c file, you must rebuild the kernel then reboot the systemfor the new parameters to take effect. To rebuild the kernel, type thefollowing, and press Enter after each line:/etc/conf/bin/idbuild -Bcp /etc/conf/cf.d/unix /stand/unixNote: The drivers support tagged queuing andreinitialization.Using Multiple Host AdaptersWhen using multiple host adapters, consider the following:n The host adapter and computer must be configured formultiple host adapters as explained in the host adapter’suser’s guide.n To boot from the Ultra160 Family host adapter, make sure thehost adapter is installed in the lowest PCI slot number. Seeyour host adapter’s user’s guide.n UnixWare 2.1x and UnixWare 7.01/7.1 supports auto-configuration. When adding multiple host adapters to anexisting UnixWare 2.1x and 7.01/7.1 system, simply install theboard and reboot; the system automatically reconfigures andrebuilds the kernel. If you want to select a host adapter to bootfrom, simply disable the BIOS on all other host adapters.
