15 Product Support and Maintenance15.1 RepairsContact Banner Engineering for troubleshooting of this device. Do not attempt any repairs to this Banner device; it containsno field-replaceable parts or components. If the device, device part, or device component is determined to be defective bya Banner Applications Engineer, they will advise you of Banner's RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) procedure.Important: If instructed to return the device, pack it with care. Damage that occurs in return shipping isnot covered by warranty.15.2 MaintenanceMaintenance tasks include keeping the hardware free of dust and dirt and updating the Barcode Manager software andsensor firmware as new versions become available.15.2.1 Clean the ReaderDust, dirt, etc. on the lens cover may alter the reading performance.Clean the lens cover periodically for continued correct operation of the reader.Use soft material and alcohol to clean the lens cover and avoid any abrasive substances.Repeat the operation frequently in particularly dirty environments.15.2.2 Update the Software and FirmwareThe current version of Barcode Manager software and the sensor firmware is available for download fromwww.bannerengineering.com.15.2.3 Update the Firmware1.
