CHAPTER 7: CONFIGURATION SCREEN7-8EMM-E6 User’s Guide7.6 CONNECTING/DISCONNECTING A UPSThe EMM-E6 provides the option of connecting to an UninterruptiblePower Supply (UPS) using Local Management.To enable the UPS connection using EMM-E6/LM:1. Use the arrow keys to highlight the COM 1 Application: field.2. Press the Return key until “UPS” appears in the field. This fieldtoggles between “OFFLINE”, which is the default value, “UPS”, and“SLIP”.3. Use the arrow keys to highlight the COM 1 Baud Rate field.4. Press the Return key until “2400 Connect?” appears in the field.5. Use the arrow keys to highlight Connect?.6. Press the Return key. The request “Y/N:_” appears.7. Enter Y if you want to connect a UPS, or N if you do not want a UPSconnection. Entering a Y response connects the EMM-E6 to the UPSand “-- Active --” appears in the Connect? field.8. Press the Return key.To disable the UPS connection using EMM-E6/LM:1. Use the arrow keys to highlight -- Active -- in the COM 1 field.2. Press the Return key. The option “Disconnect? Y/N:” appears.3. Enter Y if you want to disconnect a UPS, or N if you want to remainconnected. Entering a Y response disconnects the EMM-E6 from theUPS. “-N/A-” will appear in the Baud Rate field, and the COM1Application field changes to “OFFLINE”.4. Press the Return key.
