62 Using the Printer With Your Software Chapter 4Special OptionsThe BJC-70 printer driver for Windows provides several special options.From the Canon BJC-70 Setup dialog box, click on the Options button. Yousee this screen:These options allow you to select the halftone method you want to use tocombine ink colors, identify the monitor you are using for the best colormatching, and increase or decrease the intensity of the printed images.HalftoneYour printer contains four colors of ink: cyan, yellow, magenta, and black.Your software creates intermediate colors by mixing combinations of thesebasic inks. For example, mixing yellow with cyan creates green, yellowwith magenta produces red, and cyan plus magenta equals blue.To print the entire spectrum of colors, the BJC-70 printer driver forWindows applies special halftone methods. Using these methods, differentcolored dots of ink are placed closely together to create the illusion of othercolors.
