93Exposure compensation is used to alter the standard exposure set bythe camera. You can make the image look brighter (increasedexposure) or darker (decreased exposure). You can set the exposurecompensation up to ±2 stops in 1/3-stop increments.1 Turn the Mode Dial to anyCreative Zone mode except <a>.2 Check the exposure levelindicator.Press the shutter button halfway andcheck the exposure level indicator.3 Set the exposure compensationamount.Set the power switch to <J>, andwhile looking at the viewfinder or LCDpanel, turn the <5> dial.Turn the <5> dial while pressing theshutter button halfway or within (0)after pressing the shutter buttonhalfway.To cancel the exposurecompensation, set the exposurecompensation amount back to <E>.4 Take the picture.Setting Exposure CompensationNIncreased exposureDecreased exposureThe exposure compensation amount will remain in effect even after youset the power switch to <2>.Take care not to turn the <5> dial and change the exposurecompensation inadvertently.
