LCD Messages 13-7Troubleshooting13LCD MessagesThe following messages are displayed in the LCD when the machine performs a function or if itencounters an error.Message Cause ActionCHANGE PAPERSIZE The paper size setting is set to a sizeother than letter, legal, A4, B5, or A5.Set the paper size setting to letter, legal,A4, B5, or A5 and load paper of the samesize.CHECK DOCUMENT There is a paper jam in the ADF. Remove the document in the ADF.(See p. 13-6.)Make sure that the document is not toolong or too short. (See p. 6-1.)Then reset the machine by opening theprinter cover and then closing it.The ADF roller rotates without feedingdocuments.Fan the edge that will feed into themachine first, then tap the edge ofmultiple page documents on a flat surfaceto even the stack.The document has stopped in the ADFbecause you pressed [Stop/Reset] whilescanning.Remove the document in the ADF.(See p. 13-6.)CHECK PRINTER An abnormality has occurred in theprinter.Reset the machine by opening the printercover and then closing it. If the messageremains, unplug the machine from thepower supply and call your servicerepresentative.DOCUMENT TOO LONG The document is longer than 356 mm, oris not feeding correctly.Reduce the length of the document towithin 356 mm.There is a paper jam in the ADF. Remove the document you are trying tocopy in the ADF. (See p. 13-6.)Make sure that the document is not toolong or too short. (See p. 6-1.)Then reset the machine by opening theprinter cover and then closing it.HANG UP PHONE The handset is not placed in the handsetcradle correctly.Replace the handset correctly.INCORRECT PAPER SIZE The size of the paper in the cassette ormulti-purpose feeder is different from thatof the paper specified in the SIZE> setting of the Menu.Load the correct paper size or change the setting of the Menu.(See p. 15-2.)Then reset the machine by opening theprinter cover and then closing it.INSTALL CARTRIDGE The cartridge is not installed or notinstalled correctly.Install the cartridge correctly.(See p. 2-17.) |
