3-6 Registering Information Chapter 3Registering Required Sender InformationIn the United States, FCC rules governing the use of facsimile equipment state that thefollowing sender information must be printed on every facsimile transmission:• Your fax number• Your personal name or company name• The time and date of transmissionYour MultiPASS has been designed to print this information at the top of every fax yousend. You must therefore register your unit’s telephone/fax number, your personalname or company name, and the current date and time before using your MultiPASS.This section gives details on registering the sender information.What is Sender Information?When you receive a fax, you may notice that the name of the person or company whosent you the fax, their fax/telephone number, and the date and time of transmission willbe printed in small type at the top of each page. This information is called theSenderinformation or theTransmit Terminal Identification (TTI). Similarly, you must registeryour details in your MultiPASS so that whenever you send a fax, the other party knowswho sent it, and when it was sent.
