GENERAL DESCRIPTIONC. ADD TONER Indicator iThis indicator flashes when the amount oftoner in the black developing assembly hasbecome low.1. Black developing assembly1 Open the front door.2) Turn the developing assembly releaselever counterclockwise.3) Pull the developing assembly forward asfar as possible.4) Open the top cover of the developingassembly.5) Shake the toner cartridge back and forthabout 1 times.6) Place the toner cartridge on the develop-ing assembly.7) While holding the toner cartridge inplace, remove the seal slowly to allowthe toner to flow out.Figure 1-148) Tap the top of the toner cartridge toremove any toner remaining in the car-tridge.9) Carefully remove the toner cartridge.10) Close the top cover of the developingassembly.11) Put the developing assembly back intothe copier.12) Swing the developing assembly releaselever clockwise.1 3) Close the front door.2. CT Unit (color developing unit)If copy images become faint, the colortoner has probably run out. In this case,replace the CT unit. The copy image cansometimes be temporarily restored byplacing the CT unit in its storage box andagitating it.Note:The CT unit is a discardable type.When the color toner has been used up,toner is not added to the CT unit; rather,the entire unit is replaced.D. CONTROL CARDIndicators:The control card indicator operates on acopier with a control card unit.
