Be sure that the power supply provides the rated voltage (±10%; do not disconnectthe power plug during the night.)b. Avoid areas which are subject to high/low temperature/humidity (near a water faucet,water boiler, humidifier) or dust. Avoid areas near sources of fire.c. Avoid areas subject to ammonium gas.d. Avoid areas subject to direct rays of the sun; as necessary, provide curtains.e. Make sure that the site is well ventilated.f. Make sure that the copier is kept level.g. Be sure that the copier remains powered throughout the night.Check the site against the foregoing.2. Checking the OriginalsFind out whether the problem is due to the originals used or the copier.a. The density correction setting in user mode is best when set to ‘5 ±1’.b. Originals with a reddish background tend to have poor contrast; for example, redsheets, slips.c. Originals which are diazo copies or with transparency tend to produce copies whichcan be mistaken for “foggy” copies.Originals which are prepared in light pencil tend to produce copies which can bemistaken for “light” copies.3. Copyboard Cover, Copyboard Glass, and Standard White PlateCheck the copyboard cover, copyboard glass, and standard white plate for dirt; if dirtis found, clean them with a solution of mild detergent or alcohol; if scratches are found,on the other hand, replace them.4. Charging Assembliesa. Check each charging assembly for dirt and fault (scratches, for example).b. Check to make sure that each charging assembly is properly set.5. Developing Assemblya. Check to make sure that the rolls of both ends of the developing assembly are incontact with the drum.b. Check to make sure that the surface of the developing cylinder is coated with aneven film of toner.6. Papera. Check to make sure that the paper is of a type recommended by Canon.b.
