User Settings 5-115Customizing Fax Settings● If you select [Off]:❑ Press [OK].The selected mode is set.Setting the Standard DensityThis function enables you to set the standard density of the Fax Basic Features screen inadvance when you frequently scan originals that are either too dark or too light to see clearly.NOTE• The resolution (fineness of the image) remains unchanged when you change the density.• Set the resolution according to the complexity and detail of the original. For example, if you are sendinga magazine article in a small, densely spaced type and/or photographs, set the resolution to 'Fine','Super Fine', or 'Ultra Fine', and if you are sending a document with large type only, set it to 'Standard'.(See "Resolution, Density, and Image Quality," on p. 2-2.)• The default setting is in the middle on a scale of 1 to 9.1 Press ➞ [Custom Fax Settings]➞ [User Settings] ➞ [DensityControl].
