Installing and Using NetSpot 7-57Using the Network and Device Settings with NetSpotInstallation (UNIX)IMPORTANT• Administrator functionality is available to a user who has the security privileges tooperate as a supervisor or network administrator.1 Log in as root.2 Insert the iR Series Printer Driver Software Disc 1 (English)into the CD-ROM drive.3 Find the subdirectory for the desired language in the /netspot/ux_sol directory on the CD-ROM.4 Copy the NetSpot file with a .tar extension to a directory onthe local drive, such as /opt, into which you want to installNetSpot.Input Example:#cd /opt#cp/cdrom/cdrom0/netspot/ux_sol/language/netspot-v001-solaris.tar .#tar -xvf netspot-v001-solaris.tarNOTE• A three-digit number, such as 001, is the version number of NetSpot.5 Change directories to the new NetSpot directory.6 For Solaris 2.x, edit the .profile file (Bourne shell), .ksurc file(Korn shell), .cshrc file (C shell) to make sure the languageenvironment variable LANG is set correctly (such as C for USEnglish, UK-eng for UK English, de for German, fr for French,es for Spanish, or it for Italian).For Solaris 7 or later, select the proper language from the log-in screen.
