62-61753-213-9The microprocessor may be configured so that: the same settings apply to any set point, or the settings are different, depending on whether theset point is in the perishable range or in the frozenrange.3.6.2 Restart VoltageThe microprocessor will restart the unit when a presetminimum voltage is reached. The minimum voltagemay be configured from 12.0 to 12.8 Volts in 0.1Vincrements. The factory setting for this Configuration is12.2V.A lower voltage selection may result in a longer offcycle (based on battery voltage) and possibly overallshorter battery life. A higher voltage selection mayresult in a shorter off cycle (based on battery voltage)and possibly overall longer battery life.3.6.3 Charging AmpsThe microprocessor may be configured to monitorbattery charging amperage in addition to battery volt-age. The battery charging rate must be below the se-lected amp setting to allow the unit to cycle off.The Configuration may be set from 1.0 to 10.0 Amps in0.5 amp increments. A weak or defective battery mayindicate a suitable voltage charge while the alternatoris actually putting a high charging rate into it, then notbe sufficiently charged to restart the engine at the endof a Start-Stop Off Cycle. The factory setting for this Configuration is 5.0 amps. This is a general setting that may need to be adjustedfor the operating environment of the unit. Units operat-ed in colder ambient temperatures may require a lowersetting to force a higher charge in the battery prior toStart-Stop Off Cycle. Units operated in warmer ambi-ent temperatures may use a higher setting. As a battery ages, it is normal for it to require longerre-charging periods. If the running time is graduallyincreasing in Start-Stop operation due to the batteryrequiring a longer charging period, this run time maybe shortened by raising the amp setting. (This may bechecked by reviewing downloaded data and looking atthe amp reading during prolonged engine Start-StopOn Cycles.)
