Calibration Verification (Kilograms)Product Reference Guide 89Increasing Load Test (Phase 2 Dual Interval ONLY)After completing the Shift Test, you must complete the Increasing Load Testusing 4, 5 and 6 kilograms of weight.Shift Test — Metric (5 Kilograms)The Shift Test checks to ensure that items placed anywhere on the weighingsurface of the scanner/scale are weighed properly. Refer to Figure 48 whenperforming this test.NOTEThe upper limit of the scale is configurable according to POS interface type and maynot necessarily be set at 15 kilograms, which is the standard setting. For this test, continue to place weights in 1 kilogram increments only to the upper weight limitset for your scale.DUAL INTERVAL1. Place 4 kilograms in the center of the weighingsurface and check that the Remote Display reads between 3.998 kg and 4.002 kg.2. Place an additional 1 kilogram in the center ofthe weighing surface and check that the displayreads between 4.998 kg and 5.002 kg.3. Place an additional 1 kilogram in the center ofthe weighing surface and check that the displayreads between 5.998 kg and 6.005 kg.4. Increase the weight on the center of the weigh-ing surface to 7.50 kg and check that the displayreads between 7.495 and 7.505 kg.5. Remove the weights and verify that the displayreads 0.000 kg. You have completed theIncreasing-Load Test.SINGLE INTERVAL DUAL INTERVAL1. Place and remove in succession, a 5.0kilogram load on the center of each ofthe four quadrants (2, 3, 4, and 5 in Fig-ure 48) and in the center (1) of the scan-ner/scale’s weighing platform. Verifythat the display shows a reading ofbetween 4.995 and 5.005 kg for eachquadrant/center test and that the dis-play returns to 0.000 between each load.1. Place and remove, in succession, a 5.0kilogram load on the center of each of thefour quadrants: 2, 3, 4, and 5, and in thecenter (1) of the scanner/scale’s weighingplatform (see Figure 48). Verify that theRemote Display shows a reading ofbetween 4.998 and 5.002 kg for eachquadrant/center test. Check that thedisplay returns to 0.000 between each load.2. After verifying the accuracy of eachquadrant and the center of the weighingsurface, remove all weight from thescale. This completes the Shift Test —Metric (5 Kilograms).2. After verifying the accuracy of eachquadrant and the center of the weighingsurface, remove all weight from the scale. This completes the Shift Test — Metric (5Kilograms).
