Installing the system boardPrerequisiteNOTE: Before replacing the system board, replace the old iDRAC MAC address label in the Information tag with the iDRAC MACaddress label of the replacement system board.1 If you are replacing the system board, remove all the components listed in the removing the system board section.Steps1 Holding the system board holder, lower the system board it into the system.2 Incline the system board at an angle and align the connectors with the slots on the rear of the chassis.3 Slide the system board towards the rear of the chassis until the connectors are firmly seated in the slots.Figure 63. Installing the system board4 Using a Philips #2 screwdriver, tighten the screws that secure the system board to the chassis.Next steps1 Replace the following:a TPM ModuleNOTE: The TPM Module must be replaced only while installing new system board.b Storage controller cardc Internal USB key (if applicable)d Expansion card and risere Processor and heat sinkf Memory modulesg Air shroud2 Reconnect the cables to the system board.NOTE: Ensure that the cables inside the system are routed along the chassis wall and secured using the cable securingbracket.3 Follow the procedures in After working inside your system4 Ensure that you:a Use the Easy Restore feature to restore the Service Tag. For more information, see the Easy restore section.b If the Service Tag is not backed up in the backup flash device, enter the Service Tag manually.
