The CMC firmware performs a signature verification step to ensure the authenticity of theuploaded firmware. The firmware update process is successful only if CMC authenticates the firmware image to be a valid imagefrom the service provider and has not been altered. The firmware update process is stopped if CMC cannot verify the signature ofthe uploaded firmware image. A warning event is then logged and an appropriate error message is displayed. The firmware updateincludes upgrade and downgrade.Downloading CMC firmwareBefore beginning the firmware update, download the latest firmware version from support.dell.com, and save it to your localsystem.It is recommended to follow the following update order while updating firmware for the chassis:• Blade components firmware• CMC firmware• Chassis infrastructure firmwareViewing currently installed firmware versionsYou can view the currently installed firmware versions using the CMC web interface or RACADM.Viewing currently installed firmware versions using CMC web interfaceIn the CMC web interface, go to any of the following pages to view the current firmware versions:• Chassis Overview → Update38
