148 Adding and Replacing PartsRemoving the I/O Panel1 Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 139.CAUTION: Your computer is heavy (it has an approximate minimum weight of 55lbs) and can be difficult to maneuver. Seek assistance before attempting to lift,move, or tilt it; this computer requires a two-man lift. Always lift correctly to avoidinjury; avoid bending over while lifting. See yourProduct Information Guide forother important safety information.CAUTION: The computer stand should be installed at all times to ensuremaximum system stability. Failure to install the stand could result in the computertipping over, potentially resulting in bodily injury or damage to the computer.2 Remove the computer cover (see "Removing the Computer Cover" onpage 141).3 Remove any full-length expansion cards (see "Removing an ExpansionCard" on page 202).4 If a graphics riser card is installed, remove it:a Remove its four screws.b Disconnect its power cable.c Move it slightly up and to the right at an angle to free it from the cardfan and the memory-riser support structure.d Set the riser aside.5 Loosen the captive thumbscrews that secure the memory shroud and liftto remove it from the computer.6 Disconnect the speaker cable from the system board.7 Disconnect the front fan and the card fan from the system board.8 Unscrew the two screws that hold the processor and card fan case in placeand lift it away from the computer.9 Disconnect the control-panel cable from the I/O panel connector bypulling with the cable loop.NOTICE: Carefully note the routing of each cable before you disconnect it, so thatyou are sure to re-route cables correctly. An incorrectly routed or a disconnectedcable could lead to computer problems.10 Note the routing of each cable as you disconnect all cables attached to theI/O panel.
