Use of another AC adapter maycause a fire or explosion.• Before you connect the computer to an electrical outlet,check the AC adapter voltage rating to ensure that therequired voltage and frequency match the availablepower source.• To remove power from the computer, turn it off,remove the battery pack, and disconnect the ACadapter from the electrical outlet.• To help prevent electric shock, plug the AC adapter andperipheral power cables into properly grounded powersources. These power cables may be equipped withthree-prong plugs to provide an earth groundingconnection. Do not use adapter plugs or remove thegrounding prong from the power cable plug. If you use apower extension cable, use the appropriate type, two-prong or three-prong, to mate with the AC adapterpower cable.• Be sure that nothing rests on your AC adapter’s powercable and that the cable is not located where it can betripped over or stepped on.• If you are using a multiple-outlet power strip, usecaution when plugging the AC adapter’s power cableinto the power strip. Some power strips may allow youto insert the plug incorrectly. Incorrect insertion of thepower plug could result in permanent damage to yourcomputer, as well as risk of electric shock and/or fire.Ensure that the ground prong of the power plug isinserted into the mating ground contact of the powerstrip.
