127Advanced Setup – Part 2Setting the Delay Time1 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button to select“Delay Time” at the “Speaker Setup” menu,then press the ENTER button.• Display the “Delay Time” screen.• Input the distance between the listening position and thedifferent speakers to set the delay time for the surroundmode.• Two surround back speakers are required to use the THXUltra2 Cinema, THX Music mode and THX Games mode.Set the surround back speakers so that the distance to thelistening position is the same for both the left and rightspeakers.It is also recommended that the deviations of the distancefrom the listening position to L and R channel speakers (frontleft (FL) and front right (FR), surround left (SL) and surroundright (SR), surround back left (SBL) and surround back right(SBR)) is less than 2 ft (60 cm).Preparations:Measure the distances between the listening position andthe speakers (L1 to L11 on the diagram at the below).L1 L2L3L4L5 L6L7 L8L9 L10L11C FRFLSWListening positionSLA2 Press the CURSOR FF or GG button to select thedesired unit, “Meters” or “Feet”.• The “Delay Time” screen appears automatically.Example: When “Feet” is selected3 Press the CURSOR DD or HH button to select thespeaker to be set.¢ Assignment of low frequency signal range• The only signals produced from the subwoofer channel areLFE signals (during playback of Dolby Digital or DTS signals)and the low frequency signal range of channels set to“Small” in the setup menu. The low frequency signal rangeof channels set to “Large” are produced from thosechannels.¢ Subwoofer Setup• The subwoofer mode setting is only valid when and “Yes”is set for the subwoofer in the “Speaker Configuration”settings ( page 125, 126).• When the input signal is analog or a PCM signal notincluding LFE signals, if “LFE–THX–” is selected, the lowfrequency component is not output from the subwoofer.
