Eaton 93PM Integrated Battery Cabinet-Small (IBC-S) Installation Manual 164000305—Rev 06 1CChhaapptteerr 11 IInnttrroodduuccttiioonnThe Eaton® Integrated Battery Cabinet-Small (IBC-S) provides extended emergency short-time backup powerfor 93PM UPS systems to enhance the usability and reliability of the systems. The IBC-S safeguards operationduring brownouts, blackouts, and other power interruptions providing cost-effective extended battery run time.The IBC-S is housed in a single free-standing cabinet with safety shields behind the doors for hazardous voltageprotection. Up to four IBC-Ss per UPS may be used to meet application runtime needs. The cabinets match theUPS cabinet in style and color. Figure 1 shows the Integrated Battery Cabinet-Small.The IBC-S is equipped with valve-regulated lead-acid (VRLA) batteries. Removable battery trays with quickdisconnects between trays reduce battery maintenance time. A DC-rated circuit breaker within each cabinetprovides protection and servicing isolation.NOTE Startup and operational checks must be performed by an authorized Eaton CustomerService Engineer, or the warranty terms specified in Chapter 8 Warranty become void.This service is offered as part of the sales contract for the UPS.
