2MOUNTING AND WIRING YOUR FIXTUREWARNING: Risk of electric shock. Disconnectpower at fuse or circuit breaker before installingor servicing.NOTE: Fixture can be wall or eave mounted (Fig. 3).NOTE: Coverplate mounts to recessed mountedstandard junction boxes (Fig. 4). Junction box must beat least 1-1/2 inch in depth for proper installation forrecessed mount application. For surface mount junctionbox installation, refer to installation instructions includedwith the adaptar plate kit (E).1. Line up the holes on the mounting bracket (B) withthe holes on your junction box. Using either (2) #6screws or (2) #8 screws (D) (depending on size ofthe holes in your junction box), attach the mountingbracket (B) to your junction box (Fig. 5).2. Thread fixture wires through coverplategasket (C) (Fig. 8).3. Hang one end of the support hook onto themounting bracket and hang the light fixture on theother end of the support hook (Fig. 6).4. Connect house ground wire and fixture ground wireby firmly pushing into quick connect wiringconnector. Connect fixture black wire to house blackwire and fixture white wire to house white wire byfirmly pushing into quick connect wiring connectors(Fig. 8)5. Attach fixture (A) to the mounting bracket (B) using(2) #8 x 1-1/4 in. screws (F) pre-attached to thecanopy. Be sure no loose wires remain sticking outfrom underneath the coverplate. Insert thedecorative screw cover caps (G) into the screwholes on the coverplate for a finishedappearance (Fig. 7).6. Adjust light fixture to desired postion by looseningthe thumbscrew on the upper arm. Move the headto aim and retighten the thumbscrew and jam nut.7. Apply silicone caulk around the edges of thecoverplate to provide a watertight seal fromrain and moisture.8. Turn on power at main fuse / breaker box.OPERATING YOUR FIXTURE1. Rotate duration knob on bottom of the sensor to“TEST” (Fig. 9).2. Turn the arrow on the sensitivity knob to a middlepoint between “+” and “-.”3. Turn on the power to fixture. Allow fixture to warmup approximately 40 seconds before testing. (Lightsmay not come on during warm-up period.)4. Aim sensor head toward desired detection area, maintaining a 5°–15° down angle.5. Walk across the detection zone at the farthestdistance you wish your motion sensor to detectmotion.6. Adjust sensor head angle until you get desiredresults. Lights will turn off 4 seconds after allmotion stops.NOTE: For maximum range performance, allow fixtureto operate in any mode (with power to the unit) for atleast 48 hours.7. To set the ON time, rotate duration knob arrow topoint to the desired time setting within the range(up to 12 minutes) (Fig.9).TROUBLESHOOTINGProblem Cause / SolutionLight does notcome ON withmotion at night. No power to the fixture.• Check if circuit breaker tripped.• Confirm wall switch is ON.Surrounding external ambient light is too bright. (If so, the unit maythink it is daytime.)• Re-aim the head.• Relocate or reposition the unit away from the light.TURN OFF POWER BEFORE CONTINUINGWiring to the unit is loose.• Check wiring; reconnect if necessary.Light comes ONfor no apparentreason at night. There is motion in the detection zone.• Make sure the sensor is not picking up moving objects such astrees, traffic, etc.TEST FOR YOURSELF.• Cover the sensor lens with cardboard to prevent sensorfrom detecting motion. If the light stays off, something in thedetection zone is triggering the sensor.* If the light stays on with the sensor lens covered, contactcustomer service.• Reposition the sensor.Light stays ON atnight and doesnot turn OFF.There is motion in the detection zone.• Make sure the sensor is not picking up moving objects such astrees, traffic, etc.• Reposition the sensor. If there is no motion in the detection zone, unit is in “Dusk to DawnSetting” (override mode).• Turn the light switch to the OFF position for 40 seconds, andthen turn back to the ON position. This will send the unit backinto “Auto” mode.Lightcontinuouslyblinks ON andOFF at night. The light given from the unit’s own lamp is affecting themotion sensor.• Re-aim the lamp.• Reposition motion sensor.Light is ONduring the day.The controls on the bottom of the motion sensor are in “TEST” mode.• Change dial setting (not “TEST” mode). The motion detector is shadowed.• Reposition motion sensor.Cannot activateDusk to DawnSetting at night(override mode).Surrounding external ambient light is too bright. (If so, the unit maythink it is daytime.)• Re-aim the head.• Relocate or reposition the unit away from the light. Not enough time is allowed to enter the “Dusk to Dawn Setting.”• Turn power OFF and ON twice within 3 seconds. There is more than one fixture on an indoor wall switch.• If so, put them on separate switches.Test SettingLights should turn ON withmotion both day and night.Lights should turn OFFafter 4 seconds.Turn the powerto the fixture ON.TESTReturn to Auto Setting(motion activated)From any of the above settingsKnob arrow points todesired time settingwithin the range.Turn the power OFFfor at least 40 secondsand then back ON.Mode of DURATION Knob How to SetOperation Adjustment Power SwitchAuto Setting (motion activated)Lights should turn ON withmotion only at night and shouldturn OFF according to thedial setting.Knob arrow points todesired time settingwithin the range.Turn the powerto the fixture ON.Dusk to Dawn Setting(activated only at night)Lights should turn ON for 6 hoursat dusk and then reset tothe Auto Setting.Knob arrow points todesired time settingwithin the range.Turn the powerOFF and ON twicewithin 3 seconds.SELECTING YOUR DESIRED FEATURE9A7F FG G5DBDJunction box68CAEEE B |
