ASTAT XL User Manual Fout! Stijl niet gedefinieerd.DET-812 7111.3 General FaultsThis table describes situations where the soft starter does not operate as expected but does not trip orgive a warning.Symptom Probable CauseStarter "Not Ready" • Check Input A (53, 55). The starter disable function may beactive. If parameter 6D is set to Starter Disable and there is anopen circuit on 53, 55, the ASTAT XL will not start. The soft starter does not respondto the START or RESET button onthe keypad.• The soft starter may be in Remote control mode. When thesoft starter is in Remote control mode, the Hand LED on thestarter is off. Press the HAND/AUTO button once to change toLocal control. The soft starter does not respondto commands from the controlinputs.• The soft starter may be in Local control mode. When the softstarter is in Local control mode, the Hand LED on the starter ison. Press the HAND/AUTO button once to change to Remotecontrol.• The control wiring may be incorrect. Check that the remotestart, stop and reset inputs are configured correctly (see ControlWiring on page 17 for details).• The signals to the remote inputs may be incorrect. Test thesignalling by activating each input signal in turn. Theappropriate remote control input LED should activate on thestarter. The soft starter does not respondto a start command from eitherthe local or remote controls.• The soft starter may be waiting for the restart delay to elapse. The length of the restart delay is controlled by parameter 5ARestart Delay.• The motor may be too hot to permit a start. If parameter 4FMotor Temperature Check is set to Check, the soft starter willonly permit a start when it calculates that the motor hassufficient thermal capacity to complete the start successfully.Wait for the motor to cool before attempting another start.• The starter may be disabled via a programmable input. Ifparameter 6D is set to Starter Disable and there is an opencircuit on 53, 55, the ASTAT XL will not start. If there is nofurther need to disable the starter, close the circuit on the input.NOTEParameter 6A Local/Remote controls when theHAND/AUTO button is enabled.A reset does not occur after anAuto-Reset, when using a remotetwo-wire control.• The remote 2-wire start signal must be removed and reappliedfor a re-start.Non-resettable Thermistor Ccttrip, when there is a link betweenthe thermistor input 64, 65 orwhen the motor thermistorconnected between 64, 65 ispermanently removed.• The thermistor input is enabled once a link is fitted and shortcircuit protection has activated.• Remove the link then load the default parameter set. Thiswill disable the thermistor input and clear the trip.• Place a 1k2 Ω resistor across the thermistor input.• Turn thermistor protection to 'Log only' (parameter 16G).The soft starter does not controlthe motor correctly duringstarting.• Start performance may be unstable when using a low Motor FullLoad Current setting (parameter 1A). This can affect use on asmall test motor with full load current between 5 A and 50 A.• Power factor correction (PFC) capacitors must be installed onthe supply side of the soft starter. To control a dedicated PFCcapacitor contactor, connect the contactor to run relayterminals. |
