Usin the self-cleanin oven.Wipe up heavy soil on the ovenbottom.Before a Self-Clean Cycle[A WARNING jFIREHAZARD:Wipegreaseand heavysoil from theovenbottom beforeself-cleaning.Failureto do somay result in an ovenfire.Werecommendventingyour kitchenwith an openwindowor usinga ventilationfan or hood duringthefirstself-cleancycle.Removeany broilerpan,broilergrid,probe,allcookwareand anyaluminumfoilfrom the oven.NOTE:tf yourovenisequippedwith shiny,silver-coloredovenracks,we recommendyou removethembeforeyou beginthe self-cleancycle.Theymayremainin the ovenduringthe self-cleancycle,butthey will darken,losetheirlusterand becomehardto slide.tf yourovenisequippedwith grayporcelain-coatedovenracks,they may be left in the ovenduringthe self-cleancycle.Soilon the front frameof the rangeand outsidethe gasketon the door willneedto be cleanedbyhand.Cleantheseareaswith hotwater,soap-filledsteel-woolpadsor cleanserssuchasSoftScrub_.Rinsewellwith cleanwater and dry.Donot cleanthegasket.Thefiberglassmaterialofthe ovendoor gasketcannot withstandabrasion,it isessentialfor the gasketto remainintact,tfyou noticeit becomingworn or frayed,replaceit.Makesurethe ovenlightbulb coveris in placeandthe ovenlightisoff.IMPORTANT:Thehealthof somebirdsisextremelysensitiveto the fumesgivenoff duringthe self-cleaningcycleof any range.Hovebirdsto anotherwell-ventilatedroom.DoubleOvenand CanadianModelsOnly:Thesurfaceunitsare automaticallydisabledduringthe self-cleancycle.Hake surethat all surfaceunit controlsareturnedoff at alltimesduringtheself-cleancycle.Anysurfaceunit that isset to an"on"positionwhilethe self-cleancycleisoperatingwillautomaticallycomeon after the self-cleancycleisfinished,and couldresultin an "on"unattendedsurfaceunit.Wait untilthe self-cleancycleisfinishedto set and usethe surfaceunits.DN1D ID@DD N1How to Set the Oven for Self-CleaningTheovendoorsmustbe dosedandall controlssetcorrectlyfor thecycleto workproperly.[] TouchtheSELFCLEANpad.[] tf a time otherthanthe defaulttime isneeded,usethe number padsand enterthe desiredcleantime.Youcanchangethe cleantime to anytime between3 hoursand 5 hours,dependingon how dirtyyourovenis.[] TouchtheSTARTpad.Theovendoor locksautomatically.Thedisplaywillshowthe cleantime remaining,it will not be possibleto open theovendoor untilthe temperaturedropsbelowthe locktemperatureand LOCKED/DOORgoesoff in the controldisplay.ThewordLOCKED/DOOR_ will flash andtheword door willdisplayifyou set the cleancycleandforget to closethe ovendoor.Tostop a cleancycle,touch the CLEAR/OFFpad.WhenLOCKED/DOOR_ goesoff,indicatingtheovenhascooledbelowthe lockingtemperature,you will beable to open thedoor.DoubleOvens:Youcan set a cleancyclein bothovensat thesametime;however,they will notself-cleanat thesametime.Thelastovenset willautomaticallydelayits start untilthe end ofthe first oven'scleancycle.Whenan oven issetto self-clean,both ovendoorswill lockand the cooktopcontrolswill lockout.Theovensand cooktopcannot be usedwhen an ovenisset to self-clean.22
