MaintenanceENGINE AIR FILTER(FOR GTH-4013 EX)Clean the engine air filter and replace the elements,when necessary.1 Cleaning and changing the externalelement- Shut the engine down and put the parkingbrake.- Open the four latches A.- Remove the protection cap B.- Extract the external cartridge C.- Clean the filter bowl.- Beat the cartridge against a piece of woodsurface to eliminate any dust.- Dry clean the cartridge (max. pressure: 6bar).- Check for cracks in the filtering element.- Before refitting the cleaned cartridge or a newone, smear its seal with a thin coat of grease;fit the cartridge and make sure it is properlypositioned.- Refit cap A.NOTICEAs soon as the warning lamp 40 on the cabdashboard switches on, replace the outerelement.Never wash the cartridge with water orsolvents.2 Changing the internal element- See step 1 for removing the outer element.- Extract the internal cartridge D.- Clean the filter bowl.- Smear the seal with grease, then mount thenew element and make sure it is correctlypositioned.- Refit the main filter and the cap as describedin point 1.SERVICE INTERVALRunning-in _____________________________ NoneCleaning _____________________ Every 10 hoursOuter element change __________ Every 500 hoursInner element change ________ Every 1000 hoursNOTICEThe inner element should be replaced every twotimes the outer element is replaced.Never wash the cartridge with water orsolvents.Operator’s Manual72 GTH-4013EX - GTH-4514EX - GTH-4017EX Part No. 57.0009.0454Second Edition - Second PrintingCourtesy of Crane.Market
