Improper operation may cause devicemalfunction.3.2.2 General Safety Recommendationsz Keep the firewall chassis and installation tools away from walk area.z Keep the firewall far away from a moist area and heat sources.z Unplug all external cables before moving the chassis.3.2.3 Electricity Safetyz Locate the emergency power switch in the equipment room before installation andmaintenance so that you can switch the power off in case of an electrical accident.If necessary, unplug the power cord immediately.z Make sure that the firewall has been correctly grounded.z Do not open or close the chassis cover when the firewall is powered on.z Do not remove power cables or interface modules when the firewall is powered on.z Connect the interface cables for the firewall correctly.z Use laser with caution. Do not directly stare into apertures or fiber-opticconnectors that emit laser radiation.z If you are not using the laser, cover the dust cover to avoid static adsorption, whichmay cause damage to the laser.z Equip an uninterrupted power supply (UPS).z Double check to make sure the firewall is powered off when it must be poweredoff.z Avoid maintaining the firewall alone when it is powered on.
