Multiroom Operation34ENGLISHTo activate the remote room feed, pressthe MULTI button on the front panel 9.This will send the signal of the AVR80’scurrently selected input source to theremote room at the volume levelestablished in SET UP MENU 2.The MULTI indicator on the front paneldisplay ‚ will flash to indicate that themultiroom system is turned on in thevariable mode, and that Source Linkingis in effect. With Source Link, any changeto the AVR80’s input selection will alsochange the feed to the remote roomlocations. If the input source is changedfrom the remote room, the M ULT Iindicator will remain lit, but stopflashing.If the AVR80 is turned off in the mainlistening room, the feed to the remoteroom will continue, although theMULTI indicator will now remainconstantly illuminated.To turn off the feed to the remote roomeither while the AVR80 is still on, or afterit is turned off, press the MULTI buttonon the front panel. If the MULTI buttonis pressed while the AVR80 is still on andthe on screen video system is engaged, awarning message will appear on thevideo display (Figure #18) to remind youthat people may still be listening to thesystem in the remote room location.Remote Room OperationIn this option, the remote room feed iscontrolled by the use of an AVR80compatible remote control. The remotecommands must be transmitted to theAVR80 via a coaxial link connected to theMULTI input œ on the AVR80’s rearpanel.Using the remote control in the secondroom press the POWER ON button toturn on the remote room feed. This willactivate the multi room portion of theAVR80 whether or not it may be on in themain listening room.The initial feed to the remote room willbe the last station selected by the tuner.Any other AVR80 input source maysubsequently be selected using the sourcebuttons on the remote control.The initial volume at the remote roomwill be the level established using theoptions in SET UP MENU 2.If IR connections have been made to thesource playback equipment, it is alsopossible to control the functions of thoseunits via the second room remote.Consult with your dealer or custominstaller for additional information onthis type of installation.When the remote room is controlling theAVR80 via the IR link, the MULTIindicator on the AVR80’s front panel willremain constantly lit.NOTE: Whenever the AVR80 is in amultiroom mode, the MULTI indicatorwill flash briefly whenever a command istransmitted by the remote room locationand received by the AVR80.The AVR80 may also be remoted by akeypad (from Audio Access).
