1. Read the Safety topic and the “Installation guidelines” on page 35.2. Shut down the operating system on all partitions of the compute node, turn off the compute node,and remove the compute node from the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis. See “Removing thecompute node from an IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis” on page 37.3. Carefully lay the compute node on a flat, static-protective surface, with the cover side up.4. Open and remove the compute node cover. See “Removing the compute node cover” on page 39.5. Locate the connector on the currently installed system board into which the light path panel will beinstalled. See ▌7▐ in Figure 2 on page 14 and ▌8▐ in Figure 3 on page 15 for the location of the lightpath panel on the system board.6. For best maneuverability and visibility, orient yourself on the right side of the compute node.7. Using your right hand, connect the cable (B) on the system board by pressing it in its connector slotby using your index finger.8. Align the light path diagnostics panel (A) with its bracket. The blue touchpoint tab faces toward theback of the compute node.9. Press the light path diagnostics panel securely in the bracket.10. Install and close the compute node cover. Alwaysreplace the compute node cover before installing the compute node.11. Install the compute node into the IBM Flex System Enterprise Chassis.
