Make a configuration printout of all saved configurations. (Refer to theSetup Guide.)2. Prepare the printer for maintenance (page 313).3. Cabinet Model: Remove the paper guide assembly (page 348).Pedestal Model: Remove the top cover assembly (page 327).4. Put on a static wrist strap and ground the lead to an unpainted part of the printer frame. Touch the printer frame with thehand wearing the wrist strap before you touch memory modules or the controller board5. Remove the flash SIMM by gently opening the side locks, angling the memory module upward, and removing it from thesocket. (See Figure 18, page 341.)NOTE: The SDRAM is permanently mounted on the controller board. To replace SDRAM, replace the controller board.6. Remove the security key by gently lifting the locking tab on the top side of controller board connector J9 enough to releasethe security key, then lift and remove the security key. (See Figure 18.)NOTE: The security key is a 3-pin semi-programmable EEPROM that enables the loading of microcode and emulationsoftware.
