Switch Assembly, Platen Interlock366Switch Assembly, Platen InterlockRemoval1. Prepare the printer for maintenance (page 313).2. Cabinet Model: Remove the paper guide assembly (page 348).Pedestal Model: Remove the top cover assembly (page 327).3. Fully close the forms thickness lever (position ‘A’).4. Trace the platen interlock switch cable back to the controller board. Remove tie wraps as necessary to free the cable. (Seecable routing diagrams on page 282 and page 283.)5. Disconnect connector shell P107 (P7) from the controller board.6. Remove the platen interlock cable connector from the connector shell (page 323).7. Remove two screws securing the platen interlock switch assembly. (See Figure 45, page 413.)8. Remove the platen interlock switch assembly from the switch bracket.9. Remove the switch cable from the cutout in the right side plate.Installation1. Fully close the forms thickness lever (position ‘A’).2. Position the platen interlock switch assembly on the switch bracket and install finger tight the two screws securing it to thebracket. (See Figure 45, page 413, item 11.)3. Insert a 0.011 inch (0.028 cm) feeler gauge between the bottom of the interlock switch assembly and the shaft of the platenstop assembly, gently push down on the interlock switch, and torque the mounting screws to 8 inch-pounds (0.9 N•m).Remove the feeler gauge.4. Route the switch cable through the cutout in the right side plate and to the controller board. (See cable routing diagrams onpage 282 and page 283.)5. Connect the platen interlock switch cable to the connector shell P107 (P7) (see page 323), then connect the connectorshell to the controller board.6. Cabinet Model: Install the paper guide assembly (page 348).Pedestal Model: Install the top cover assembly (page 327).7. Return the printer to normal operation (page 314).
