The VOX delay is the amount oftime the transmitter stays ON after you stop speaking.(Default: 0.5)(MENU > Function > VOX > VOX Delay)■ SJ-1 silicone jacketThe SJ-1 silicone jacket can be used when the BP-271 battery pack is attached to the transceiver.When the BP-272 battery pack or BP-273 batterycase is attached, the jacket cannot be used.TIP: Before attaching or removing the jacket, be sureto disconnect the antenna from the transceiver.To attach:q Place the antenna connector and [DIAL] of thetransceiver into the holes on the top of the jacket, asshown to the right.w Pull the jacket around the sides and bottom of thetransceiver.• When the belt clip is attached, push it out from the holeon back of the jacket.To remove:q Remove the jacket from bottom of the transceiver.• If a belt clip is attached, pull the jacket around the bottomof the clip.w Pull the antenna connector and [DIAL] from the jack-et, and remove it from the transceiver.• VOX time-out timerSets the VOX Time-Out Timer to between 1, 2, 3, 4,5, 10 and 15 minutes to prevent accidental prolongedtransmission.To turn OFF the function, select “OFF.” (Default: 3)(MENU > Function > VOX > VOX Time-out Timer)TIP: The VOX Time-Out Timer must be set shorterthan the transceiver Time-Out Timer, otherwise thistimer will not be activated.TIP: If “VOX” is intermittent, set the VOX delay longenough to allow normal pauses in speech, but returnto receive after you finish speaking.
