20-1TROUBLESHOOTINGThe following chart is designed to help you correct problems which are not equipment malfunctions.If you are unable to locate the cause of a problem or solve it through the use of this chart, contact your nearest IcomDealer or Service Center.D While operating D-STARPROBLEM POSSIBLE CAUSE SOLUTION REF.After your call, the repeaterdoes not return a status re-ply.• The repeater setting is wrong.• The manually entered repeater fre-quency, frequency offset, or duplex set-ting is wrong.• Your transmission did not reach the re-peater.• Select the correct repeater.• Correct the repeater frequency, fre-quency offset, or duplex setting.• Wait until you are closer to the repeaterand try again.• Try to access another repeater.p. 8-2pp. 9-30, 9-31——After your call, the repeaterreplies ‘UR?’ and its callsign.• The call was successfully sent, but nostation immediately replied.• Wait for a while, and try again. —After your call, the repeaterreplies ‘RX’ or ‘RPT?’ andthe access repeater’s callsign.• Your own call sign (MY) has not beenset.• Your own call sign (MY) has not beenregistered on a gateway repeater, or theregistered contents do not match yourtransceiver’s setting.• Set your own call sign (MY).• Register your own call sign (MY) on agateway repeater, or confirm the regis-tration of the call sign.p. 13 of theBasic manualp. 15 of theBasic manualAfter your call, the repeaterreplies ‘RPT?’ and call signof the destination repeater.• The repeater cannot connect to thedestination repeater.• The repeater is busy.• Check the repeater setting.• Wait for a while, and try it again.p. 9-23—After your call, the accessrepeater replies ‘RPT?’ andits call sign.• The call sign of the destination repeateris wrong.• Correctly set the destination repeatercall sign.p. 9-28Even holding down , theDR function is not selected.• There is no Repeater List in your trans-ceiver.• Reload the Repeater List using the CS-51PLUS2 cloning software on the CD.• Reload the Repeater List using a mi-croSD card.• Enter the Repeater List data directlyinto the transceiver.p. 17-20p. 8-21p. 9-24Even holding down , thereceived call sign will not setto the destination call sign.• The call sign has not been correctly re-ceived.• When a received signal is weak, or asignal is received during scanning, thecall sign may not be received correctly.In that case, “--------” appears and errorbeeps sound, and a reply call cannot bemade.• Try it again, after the transceiver hascorrectly received the call sign.—A Local area call can bemade, but the Gateway callor destination station callcannot be made.• MY call sign has not been registered ona D-STAR repeater.• Register your own call sign (MY) on agateway repeater, or confirm the regis-tration of the call sign.p. 13 of theBasic manualDuring transmission, “L” ap-pears on the LCD, and thereceived audio is interrupted.• While receiving through the internet,some packets may be lost due to net-work error (poor data throughput per-formance).• Wait a while, and try it again.When the transceiver receives cor-rupted data, and misidentifies it is asPacket Loss, “L” is displayed, even if itis a Local area call.—“DV” and “FM” icons alter-nately blink.• While in the DV mode, an FM signal isreceived.• Use a different operating frequency un-til there are no FM signals on the origi-nal frequency.p. 9-10
