Message LengthIntraMail for Aspire System Guide Chapter 2: Features ◆ 1252Message LengthDescriptionYou can set the maximum length of a message that can be left in a Subscriber Mailbox. When a caller tries toleave a message that exceeds the limit, they hear, “You have reached the recording limit.” IntraMail sends theportion of the message that fits within the allowed Message Length and hangs up. The Message Lengthoption helps you maximize the storage space reserved for messages. If you find that callers are leavingunusually long messages, shorten the Message Length. IntraMail will cut off the message once the callerreaches the Message Length limit. On the other hand, if you hear that IntraMail is cutting off caller’s mes-sages prematurely, increase the Message Length to give callers more time.Related FeaturesN/AProgrammingStep 1 Set the maximum length of recorded messages.1.1 47-01-03: Subscriber Message Length on page 194.- This option sets the maximum length (1-4095 seconds) of recorded messages for:- Subscriber Mailbox users dialing RS to record and send a message.- Extension users leaving a message in a Subscriber Mailbox.- Outside Automated Attendant callers accessing a mailbox via a GOTO commandand then dialing RS to record and send a message.- Subscriber Mailbox Greetings.- Mailbox Names.- Announcement Messages.- Call Routing Mailbox Instruction Menus.✔By default, these types of messages are 120 seconds long maximum.Step 2 Set the maximum length of recorded Quick Messages.2.1 47-01-04: Non-Subscriber Message Length on page 194.- This option sets the maximum length (1-4095 seconds) of recorded messages for:- Automated Attendant callers leaving a message or Quick Message in a SubscriberMailbox.- Outside callers transferred by an extension user to a Subscriber Mailbox.✔By default, these types of messages are 120 seconds long maximum.OperationN/A
