All three can be installedfrom the SuperScript 1400 Series Solutions CD.NEC recommends using the PCL6 driver because of it’sadvanced features. Use the PCL5e driver for legacyapplications. If the PostScript 2 Upgrade Kit has beeninstalled in the printer, use the Windows Postscript driver.Installing the SoftwareInstalling a PCL6, PCL5e, or Windows PostScript driverinvolves inserting the SuperScript 1400 Series Solutions CDinto your computer and following the instructions displayedon the monitor. During the install, you can choose whichdriver you want to install.note: To use the Windows PostScript printer driver, theNEC PostScript Level 2 Upgrade Kit (Order No. 1802) mustbe installed into the printer. See Chapter 8, “PrinterOptions,” for more information.To install printer software for Windows NT 4.0:1. Turn on your computer and wait until the desktopappears.2. Turn on the printer and wait until READY appears on theOperator Panel display.3. Insert the SuperScript 1400 Series Solutions CD into yourcomputer.note: If the NEC SuperScript 1400 Series Solutions CDInstaller appears on the monitor shortly after the disk isinserted, go to Step 6, if not, go to Step 4.4. From the desktop, double-click My Computer to openthe My Computer window.5.
