Statusmessages will now be redirected to thePrint Monitor allowing you to continueworking while the computer isprocessing data to be sent to the printer.• For LaserWriter 8.4 or higher, turnBackground Printing on by selectingFile, Print Desktop, and BackgroundPrinting.An encapsulatedPostScript (EPS) filedoes not print with thecorrect fonts.This problem occurs with some softwareapplications.Try downloading the fonts contained in theEPS file to the printer before printing.Selecting an Alternate PPDProblem SolutionThe PPD does notappear in the Chooser.note: If you manually select aPPD, an icon might not appearnext to the selected printer in theSelect a PostScript Printer box. Inthe Chooser, click Setup, andPrinter Info, then click Update Infoto bring up the icon.• Open the Chooser from the Applemenu.• Click the LaserWriter icon.• If you are on a network with multiplezones, select the zone in the AppleTalkZones box where the printer is located.• Click the printer name you want to use inthe Select a PostScript Printer box.(Double-clicking will immediatelygenerate the next few steps.)• Click on Setup… (This button may readCreate for first-time setup.)• Click on Select PPD…, locate thedesired PPD in the list, and click Select.• In the Setup dialog box, click Select,and then click OK to return to theChooser.• Close the Chooser.
