84Shooting FeaturesFocusing on SubjectThe focus area or focus range for adjusting focus varies depending on theshooting mode and focus mode (A62).• In A, B, C, D, E, F, N or special effects mode, an area for adjusting focuscan be set by selecting AF area mode (A71) in the shooting menu.Using the Target Finding AFWhen AF area mode in A, B, C, D, E, F or N mode is set to Targetfinding AF, the camera will adjust the focus during the following operations if youpress the shutter-release button halfway.• When the camera detects the main subject, itfocuses on that subject. When the subject is in focus,the focus areas (up to 12 areas) that match up withthe size of the subject will light in green.When detecting a human face, the camera focuseson it as a priority.• The camera has 9 focus areas, and if it does notdetect the main subject, it automatically selects thefocus areas containing the subject closest to thecamera.
